Description
The PIKOLINOS brand chose Hazard Studio to support its development in the French market. We managed the project delivery for the investment and creation of two flagship stores located at prestigious addresses. This collaboration resulted in three retail locations: the flagship store in the heart of Paris, their boutique in La Défense, and a third boutique in the centre of Bordeaux.
As part of the Paris Safeguard and Enhancement Plan, supervised by the Architectes des Bâtiments de France, we managed all urban administrative procedures. This included the Preliminary Declaration for the facade and the Work Permit for these Public Access Buildings (ERP), one located opposite Paris City Hall and listed within the protected heritage area, and the other on the historic shopping artery of Bordeaux.
We have designed a classic facade, combining glass and wood, which enhances the building's architecture. This choice offers excellent natural light and high-performance thermal insulation, whilst respecting the historic style of the area.
The store’s interior, spanning over 300 m² in both Paris and Bordeaux, boasts a distinctive character through the use of natural materials, terracotta, and lime plaster. Mediterranean colours – off-white, clay, and brick – alongside organic shapes evoke the seaside, creating a warm and modern atmosphere.
This project has received a favourable opinion in compliance with the rules applicable to this remarkable heritage site, issued by the Architect of French Buildings.
Hazard Studio helps to strengthen the heritage identity of the neighbourhood while offering a modern and warm experience for visitors. It contributes to urban beautification and integrates harmoniously into the local architectural fabric, thereby enhancing the heritage of Paris and Bordeaux.
