In the historic heart of Oviedo, Nastura restaurant occupies the site of the former "El Vasco" station, merging industrial heritage with Asturian gastronomy. Across a 1,200 m² space defined by chestnut wood, gilded metal, and meticulously designed lighting, the venue reimagines its railway past with minimalist elegance and a natural, welcoming warmth.
In the bustling historic quarter of Oviedo, Asturias, a stopover is essential for a festive and gourmet break. The Nastura restaurant has set up shop in the former "El Vasco" station, once the vital artery of a railway line connecting the coal mines to the Basque iron and steel industry. Carefully renovated, this station now exudes a unique atmosphere, where the industrial charm of the past blends with a resolutely contemporary conviviality.
Behind its clean lines, this 1,200 m² setting with its covered terrace reveals itself as a journey into railway memory. The eye is immediately caught by the local chestnut wood, light and shimmering, delicately punctuated with touches of gilded metal. The deliberately minimalist shapes compose a decor of timeless elegance where every detail seems designed for the essentials.
At Nastura, design flows naturally. It shines with perfect subtlety, never imposing itself, to leave ample room for conviviality. Reinterpreted ticket counters, intersecting pathways, moving carriages: railway references punctuate the space as nods to the history of the venue.
The lighting has been designed with particular care. Large spaces bathed in shadow or areas subtly illuminated by targeted lighting, the walk-through evokes the feeling of crossing a station before boarding. Glass, metal, and wood compose a precise, almost silent harmony that invites you to slow down and appreciate.
In this place, it is all about balance: between industrial past and bold modernity, between regional roots and gastronomic ambition. Nastura provides Asturian cuisine with a setting worthy of its name, in an iconic district where history and the art of living have always met.
